As a pioneer of art psychotherapy in Korea, Dr. Ryu began practicing DMT clinical art therapy at the Seoul National Hospital in 1993.

- Professor, Seoul Women's University, Graduate School of Special Therapy, Department of Expressive Arts Therapy (2001-2004)
(Korea's first Master's and Doctorate-level expressive arts therapy degree, creator of curriculum and thesis advisor)
- Professor, Soonchunhyang University, Graduate School of Health Science, Department of Psychotherapy (2007-2020)
- Adjunct Professor, Inje University, College of Medicine, Department of Neuropsychiatry (2001-2002)
- Director, ICHPER-SD Dance Therapy and Rehabilitation Commission(2010-2011)
Since 1993 Dr. Ryu has gained invaluable clinical experience with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Justice, Seoul-Crisis Youth, Crisis Family, the National Family Court Divorce Treatment, University Psychiatry Departments, National Seoul Hospital, Psychiatric Associations, Mental Health Centers, Family Courts, and carried out and supervised a governmental project for healthy family psychotherapy support. She has treated juvenile abuse, sexual violence, gambling, drug addicts, family therapy, and much more.
Over the past 30 years, she has organized more than 1,500 workshops and seminars through the American and Japanese Dance Therapy Associations, presented at art psychotherapy conferences in Europe and Greece, and collaborated with domestic and international counseling societies and organizations including: psychiatric nurse organizations, social welfare organizations, arts organizations, and educational organizations.
